Providing for children through adoption in Georgia

Adopting children in Georgia provides them with a home and family, a sense of security and belonging. It is often incredibly difficult, however, for large sibling groups to stay together through the adoption process. While some families are able to provide for a group of children, many times this is not the case. This is not something that should keep one from thinking about adopting, though.

Understanding that they could not take five siblings into one of their homes singlehandedly, four families decided to take the step into adoption together. Although this is not a traditional approach, the children have each been provided with a loving home and the ability to be close to their biological brothers and sisters. The children's biological parents had terminated their parental rights before the families were able to adopt all five children at the same time.

Since the families decided to work together to adopt the siblings, they also determined to keep them close as they grow up. Ranging in ages from 4 months to 5 years old, these siblings are now a part of more siblings in each of their families. The families get together regularly and are always willing to help each other and watch each other's children, when the need arises.

Adopting a child, or multiple children, looks different for each family. There are numerous sibling groups and individual children without forever homes. The families in this case decided to go through the adoption process, in spite of whatever challenges they may have had to face. Adoption is available to couples in Georgia who are interested in bringing a child into their home.
