Report lists top 10 cities with most auto accidents in 2019

Georgia residents should know that the nonprofit Go Safe Labs produced a report on the cities that see the most car accidents. Researchers looked at some 2 million accident reports filed during 2018 and 2019 to arrive at their conclusions. In the top 10 list of cities with the most accidents, Houston was number one with 22,188 accidents. This was followed by Charlotte, North Carolina, with 21,818 and Los Angeles with 19,660.

Texas had the most cities in the top three: Houston; Austin, which came in at number four with 16,635; and Dallas, which was fifth with 14,685. Rounding out the top 10 was Phoenix, Arizona, with 9,876 crashes. Nationwide, accident numbers rose 6.8% from 2018 to 2019, yet some of the cities in the top 10 actually saw a decrease in crash numbers in the latter year. Raleigh, which was ranked at number six, experienced 25.5% fewer crashes in 2019.

The report also provided a list of the top 10 most accident-prone regions, or “hotspots.” At number one was the Pelham Road Exit on Interstate 85 in Greenville, South Carolina. Two other stretches of highway in that city were included in the list along with an intersection in South Carolina’s capital, Columbia. Three other regions were in or around New York City.

Those who are involved in car wrecks and who are not to blame for their injuries may file a claim against the other driver’s auto insurance company. If victims were partially at fault, then the courts will determine the percentage of fault, and this will proportionally lower whatever damages victims are able to recover. To ensure a good settlement, victims may want a lawyer by their side. Third-party investigators might come in to show just how the defendant was negligent.
