3 suffer injuries in 2-truck wreck on 2-lane road

Truck accidents can have a significant, and immediate, impact on those involved. If someone is hurt or killed, their family, as well as the others involved in the incident, all have to live with what happened.

Fortunately, many truck crashes are preventable. All drivers need to do is to have good training, to pay attention to the road, to get enough sleep and to know when they need to pull over. When drivers make mistakes or don't stop driving when they need to, the outcome can be devastating.

Take, for example, this case in Chatham County. The Georgia State Police were called to the scene of a truck wreck where three people were injured, one seriously.

The crash involved two large trucks, a dump truck and a septic tank truck. Through images from the scene, you can see that the septic tank truck was forced off the road, while the dump truck's entire front end was badly damaged and dropped. The police were still investigating the crash when it was reported on March 27.

This crash is a reminder that even the largest trucks can end up in crashes with multiple victims. Though they are large vehicles, impacts can still be forceful and result in individuals being badly hurt.

What should you do if you're involved in a truck wreck?

If you are involved in a truck crash, it's important that you seek medical care and take the time to learn more about your legal rights. You may be interested in filing a claim for compensation, so you can rest easy while you move through recovery.
