It can take little more than a moment of inattention for a driver to lose control of a vehicle and veer into another lane of traffic. Unfortunately, the sudden nature of such a maneuver could leave others nearby unprepared to react and steer clear of danger. A recent car accident in Georgia that took place after a driver veered into an oncoming lane has claimed the life of one person and left two others with injuries.

Reports indicate that authorities responded to the scene of the crash on a recent Wednesday night. They advised that the incident occurred when the driver of a northbound car suddenly lost control and veered into oncoming lanes. The car proceeded to collide head-on with a second vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver and lone passenger of the first car both suffered injuries and were taken to a medical facility for treatment. Law enforcement agents have also advised that the accident remains under investigation and that charges are pending against the driver of the car. However, no further information was provided as to what might have caused the driver to lose control and cross through the median.

Suffering the untimely loss of a loved one in a fatal car accident can be a devastating process, especially when the loss comes as the result of another party’s negligence. Those who suffer loss under similar scenarios could find it beneficial to consult with legal counsel early on for advice on the next steps to take to seek restitution. In doing so, a person in Georgia could obtain much needed guidance in preparing to pursue the full amount of restitution deserved through a wrongful death claim against the party deemed responsible.
