Upon entering a public building, most individuals might not be aware of the dangers that may lurk close by, even if the front of the establishment does not offer much in the way of protective barriers. Should a vehicle veer off course and crash into the front of such a building, the results could prove cataclysmic. One person has died and several others suffered injuries during a recent car accident in which a vehicle crashed into a building in North Carolina.

The crash

Authorities advised that the incident occurred on a recent Saturday morning while the driver of a car was attempting to park outside a local establishment. Investigators say that, instead of slowing down, she pressed down on the gas pedal and proceeded to crash into the building. The vehicle is said to have crashed through a window and hit up to four people in the process.

Emergency responders reportedly transported up to three individuals to the hospital for medical care, one of whom suffered severe injuries in the crash. A fourth person suffered fatal harm and passed away at the scene. Similar incidents can happen in the blink of an eye, and the fallout of such a crash could forever alter the lives of those involved or leave families mourning the unexpected loss of someone dear.

Available options

When another party’s negligent actions cause a car accident resulting in severe injuries or death, the victims or surviving loved ones of the deceased may wish to know more about their available legal avenues. Following the crash, a person in Georgia could benefit from consulting with legal counsel for guidance in making informed choices about the situation. Such advice could prove essential to helping a person prepare to pursue the full amount of restitution entitled through the proper outlets.
