They have advised that the driver of a pickup truck was following closely behind a tractor-trailer when its driver began to slow down for a shift in traffic patterns. The driver of the pickup was unable to react quickly enough to avoid collision and proceeded to crash into the rear end of the other vehicle.
According to authorities, two passengers within the pickup truck suffered fatal injuries in the crash and died at the scene. An investigation into the crash reportedly led authorities to suspect the driver was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. He is now facing numerous charges in relation to the incident, including driving under the influence and vehicular homicide.
