On Behalf of Harrison & Medlin, P.C. | Jan 25, 2022 | DUI Defense

Being involved in a serious collision can be a stressful and harrowing experience that could continue to haunt a person throughout life. The process could be even more intimidating should authorities begin to suspect the presence of unlawful behavior. A man in Georgia is facing DUI charges following a recent collision involving a truck and motorcycle that left another person with serious injuries.

Motorcycle-related collision

According to reports, law enforcement agents responded to the scene of the crash at around 6:15 p.m. on a recent Sunday. They say the incident took place as a motorcycle rider was attempting to navigate a right turn when the driver of a truck suddenly pulled into the path of the bike. Authorities advised that while attempting to avoid collision, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle.

Reports indicate that the motorcycle rider was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of serious injuries. While no further details were provided surrounding the investigation into the crash, reports indicate that the driver of the other vehicle was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while impaired. He is also facing charges for failing to yield and causing injury by vehicle.

DUI charges

Those who face DUI charges following a car accident might not always understand their options or know how best to handle the situation. Fortunately, there are attorneys who can examine the circumstances a person in Georgia is facing and assist in making informed decisions about his or her case. Such guidance could play a vital role in helping a person know what to expect from the process and prepare to seek the best outcome possible during subsequent court proceedings.
