While any type of collision may have the potential to result in disaster, accidents involving commercial vehicles run a greater risk of carrying dire or even fatal results. Individuals who encounter a negligent truck driver might also find it nearly impossible to react quickly enough to avoid danger. Two individuals were killed and another remains in critical condition following a recent car accident that took place after a tractor-trailer rear-ended another vehicle in Georgia.

Tractor-trailer crash

Reports indicate that the incident took place at around 10:40 a.m. on a recent Saturday. Authorities say it began when for reasons unknown, the driver of a tractor-trailer suddenly rear-ended a nearby car. The impact on the crash forced the car to cross through southbound lanes of traffic before crashing into a concrete barrier. The truck also crashed into the barrier and the car proceeded to become trapped between the truck and the barrier in the process.

Authorities say that soon after the crash, the truck caught on fire and also caused the car to erupt into flames. Reports indicate that the driver of the car suffered severe injuries and remains in the hospital in critical condition. Authorities have advised that the two occupants within the tractor trailer were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Outcome of a crash

The outcome of a car accident involving a commercial vehicle could take a dire toll on the well-being of everyone involved. Individuals in Georgia who suffer harm or loss during an accident involving similar circumstances might be left with questions about their available legal options and they could choose to speak with an attorney for guidance on the next steps to take. An attorney can examine every aspect of the incident and assist a client in preparing to seek the full amount of restitution entitled through the proper channels.
