Aggressive Advocacy And Trusted Legal Guidance For Your Most Important Matters

Head-on collision kills 2, leaves 1 with serious injuries

On Behalf of Harrison & Medlin, P.C. | May 17, 2023 | Car Wrecks

While there may be some areas in which passing another vehicle on a two-lane road might be legal, such a maneuver could still prove dangerous at times. Those who fail to spot oncoming vehicles and allow sufficient time and space to navigate the pass could be at risk of creating a dangerous scenario that poses a threat to the health of others nearby. Two individuals were killed and another suffered severe injuries during a recent car accident in Georgia that occurred under similar circumstances.

Recent head-on collision

Reports indicate that law enforcement agents responded to the scene of a head-on crash at around 2:45 a.m. on a recent Saturday. They advised that the crash occurred when the driver of a car was attempting to pass another vehicle on a two-lane road. After crossing into the opposite lane, the car proceeded to crash head-on with a second vehicle.

According to reports, the driver of the second vehicle died at the scene of the crash, while a passenger in this vehicle was rushed to a medical facility with critical injuries. The driver of the car was also transported to the hospital for treatment but passed away soon after arrival. While attempting a similar maneuver can be dangerous at any time, such a decision may prove even more hazardous at night. Incidents that occur under similar scenarios could wreak havoc on the well-being of those involved or the lives of loved ones who lose someone close in the process.

Seeking restitution

When the reckless actions of another driver cause a car accident to occur, those who suffer serious harm or sudden loss in the process may struggle to accept the outcome of the situation. Following such an incident, a person in Georgia could consider speaking with a personal injury attorney for advice in evaluating his or her available legal avenues and in determining the best course of action to take. Such guidance could play a vital role in helping a person prepare to pursue the full amount of restitution to which he or she is entitled to receive via the appropriate outlets.
