Multiple-vehicle crash kills 1, injures 1 in Georgia

On Behalf of | Feb 23, 2021 | Car Wrecks |

During times of adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain, drivers must use caution to adjust behaviors accordingly. Failure to adjust driving behaviors to match weather conditions may only increase the chances a dangerous collision might occur, and in some scenarios, a crash that takes place under similar situations could result in a potentially fatal chain of events. One person has died and another suffered injuries during a recent car accident involving up to 16 vehicles in Georgia.

Chain-reaction crash

Authorities say they responded to reports of a multiple-vehicle collision just after 11 a.m. on a recent Thursday. While no further information was provided as to how the accident might have started, they did advise that it took place during times of intense rain. They also say that the accident involved as many as 16 vehicles in total, several of which were tractor-trailers.

Law enforcement agents assert that the incident caused several vehicles to become engulfed in flames. Reports indicate that one person suffered fatal injuries in the crash and passed away at the scene. While reports also say that at least one other person suffered injuries, no information was provided as to the nature of his or her condition.

Harm or loss

A car accident of this nature can be an exceedingly dangerous incident that could leave those involved with serious injuries, or loved ones mourning an untimely passing. Individuals who suffer harm or loss under similar circumstances and wish to seek restitution accordingly could choose to consult with an attorney for advice on their available legal avenues. An attorney can examine the incident thoroughly and assist a client in Georgia in preparing to seek the compensation deserved through a claim against the party or parties deemed responsible.
