An individual was injured in Georgia when his or her car collided with a pickup truck. Police arrived on the scene of the crash to find an injured driver. The accident occurred on a recent Saturday morning.

Events leading up to the car crash

The Georgia motor vehicle accident took place along Georgia 400. According to authorities, a car stalled on the road. A pickup truck with a trailer then reportedly struck the stalled car from behind.

Police said the impact of the crash caused the car to cross the highway. The car then reportedly crashed into the road’s center median wall. First responders had to extricate the car’s motorist, who suffered serious injuries in the collision. Police continued to investigate the cause of the motor vehicle wreck.

Legal recourse available following the accident

Authorities may determine through their investigation that the pickup truck driver caused the Georgia injury accident due to negligent behavior, such as driving too quickly for road conditions. In this situation, the injured car driver may opt to file a personal injury claim against the truck driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained due to the accident. Liability must be established, based upon a showing of negligence, before a judge will adjudicate any claims for damages. If the car driver is successful, he or she may be awarded financial damages to cover losses stemming from the motor vehicle accident, such as medical expenses and the loss of wages due to having to miss work for an extended period in light of the injuries.
