On Behalf of Harrison & Medlin, P.C. | Jan 30, 2024 | Car Wrecks

Attempting to pass another vehicle on a two-lane road can be dangerous at times, especially when drivers fail to look ahead and spot oncoming vehicles. Those who engage in dangerous passing maneuvers may be at greater risk of causing a head-on crash to occur and collisions involving such circumstances can prove devastating. A recent car accident involving a reckless has reportedly claimed the life of a 63-year-old woman in Georgia.

Fatal head-on crash

Authorities say they responded to reports of a head-on crash at around 7 a.m. on a recent Sunday. They advised that the crash began when the driver of a car was exhibiting reckless behavior while attempting to pass another vehicle on a two-lane road. After crossing into oncoming traffic lanes, the car proceeded to crash head-on into a second vehicle.

Reports indicate that a passenger in the second vehicle suffered severe injuries in the crash. Authorities have advised that this person died on the way to nearby medical facilities. The investigation into the crash reportedly remains underway and authorities have indicated that reckless driving appears to have been a contributing factor.

An untimely loss

Reckless driving is a type of negligent behavior that continues to be a contributing factor in many car accidents. Families in Georgia who suffer an untimely loss under such circumstances might find the situation difficult to accept and they might not know where to turn for advice on the best course of action to take to seek restitution accordingly. Fortunately, an experienced attorney can evaluate the situation a person is facing and assist in preparing to pursue the compensation entitled via a wrongful death claim against the party deemed responsible.
